Every child we serve at CASA of Johnson & Wyandotte Counties has a story. Each child is unique, with different circumstances, needs, and dreams. We want to understand their experiences and provide them with the care that they deserve. Below are 4 stories of children who have needed a CASA in their lives. No child should have to endure the hardships of the system alone, and it is our hope that we can provide a Court Appointed Special Advocate for every child experiencing abuse and neglect in Johnson & Wyandotte Counties.

Drew
Drew's middle school counselor was concerned when he started missing school on a regular basis. It was soon discovered that Drew's mom was dealing with significant mental health issues, and he was skipping school to care for her and his siblings. When Drew's mother was eventually admitted for more intensive treatment, he and his siblings were placed in foster care.
